Location :  Western Persia,  north of Hamadan.

Description :  Senneh rugs are one of the most beautiful of Persian weavings,  the designs are in most cases tiny Herati or Boteh (as seen here) repeating over the entire field.  Because the knots are very small and the pile cut very short these carpets really stand out as being very intricate.  The borders usually consist of the Herati motif,  the ground colours usually being blue,  black and ivory.
