Location of Manufacture: Western Iran on the border with Iraq.

General Description: Kurdish carpets are on the whole coarse in comparison to the sophisticated rugs of Senneh, the capital of Kurdistan. The rugs and carpets of Senneh are quite different. Kurdish rugs have deep piles which are irregularly cut. The designs are primitive. The warp and weft are of wool, as is the pile.

Specification: Loom - Horizontal. Warp - Wool. Weft - Wool. Pile - Wool. Knot - Turkish, 60 - 80 knots per square inch.
